Family:Whitney, John (1749-1824)

John⁵ Whitney (Joshua⁴, Joshua³, Benjamin², John¹) son of Joshua⁴ and Phebe (-----) Whitney,^[1] was born 7 May 1749, Uxbridge, MA,^[2], baptized 7 Jul 1751, Medway, MA,^[3] and died 21 Jan 1824, Pomfret, Chautauqua County, NY.^[4]

Marriage intentions were published 5 Dec 1767, Medway, MA, for him and Molly Carey. "The Banns between John Whitney & Molly Carey is forbidden by his Master Garnsey & Mother".^[5] He "a transient person, of Medway" married, 16 Feb 1768, Newton, MA, Molley Cary,^[6] parentage unknown. She was born 25 Jul 1751,^[7] and died after 3 Jan 1838, Erie County, PA.^[8]
