David6 Whitney (Joshua5, Matthias4, Cornelius3, Joshua2, John1), son of Joshua5 and Lydia Bowen (Day) Whitney, was born about 1786, Rutland, VT, and died 16 Apr 1866, aged 79 years. He was buried in Avon Cemetery, Avon, NY.[1]

He married, say 1816, Nancy Moore. She was born about 1798, NY, and died 6 Feb 1875, aged 76 years. She was buried in Avon Cemetery, Avon, NY.[2]

He resided in Avon, Ontario (later Livingston) Co., NY.

Children of David6 and Nancy (Moore) Whitney, probably incomplete:

i. Amelia Esther7 Whitney, b. 4 Oct 1817, Avon, NY; d. 5 Dec 1913, Leoni, MI, aged 95 years 2 months 1 day; m. 4 Mar 1838, Avon, NY, Solomon Cook Crafts, b. 13 Sep 1815, Hadley, MA, d. 3 Feb 1886, Leoni, Jackson Co., MI, son of Joel Kellogg Crafts.
ii. Henry Whitney, b. ca. 1818, Avon, NY; not in family in 1840; res. Hanover, Jackson Co., MI, in 1850, then unmarried.
iii. Harriet A. Whitney, b. 1822, Avon, NY; d. 1877; m. Theodore Swan, b. ca. 1817, NY.
iv. Helen A. Whitney, b. 15 Oct or 16 Apr 1828, Avon, NY; m. 8 Oct 1856, Geneseo, NY, Daniel Bigelow; b. 4 Dec 1822, Genesee, Livingston Co., NY.

Notes

Unidenified is the Eliza Ann Whitney, b. ca. 1819, NY, who m. before 1845, Marlin Mosher, son of William and Elizabeth (Randall) Mosher, d. before 1850, and with whom Helen (below) was living in 1850.
