Family:Whitney, Daniel (1746-1812)

Daniel⁵ Whitney (Daniel⁴, Jonathan³, Jonathan², John¹), son of Daniel⁴ and Thankful (Allen) Whitney,^[1] was born 4 Sep 1746, Shrewsbury, MA,^[2] and died 12 Dec 1812, Madrid, NY.^[3] He was buried in the Doran Cemetery, between Madrid and Potsdam, NY.^[4]

He "of Shrewsbury" married, 26 Sep 1771, Oxford, MA, Katy Stone "of the County Gore",^[5] daughter of Uriah and Mary (Blunt) Stone.^[6] She was born 15 Nov 1752, Oxford, MA,^[7] and died 10 Sep 1817, Madrid, NY. She was buried in the Doran Cemetery.^[8]

Pierce says the following:^[9]

He was in the Revolutionary army, in the company commanded by Capt. Andrews, of Shrewsbury.

He may have been the Daniel Whitney enumerated in Stamford, Bennington Co., VT in 1800, a town mid-way between Shrewsbury and Marlboro, MA and Madrid, NY.
