Daniel5 Whitney (Daniel4, Jonathan3, Jonathan2, John1), son of Daniel4 and Thankful (Allen) Whitney,[1] was born 4 Sep 1746, Shrewsbury, MA,[2] and died 12 Dec 1812, Madrid, NY.[3] He was buried in the Doran Cemetery, between Madrid and Potsdam, NY.[4]
He "of Shrewsbury" married, 26 Sep 1771, Oxford, MA, Katy Stone "of the County Gore",[5] daughter of Uriah and Mary (Blunt) Stone.[6] She was born 15 Nov 1752, Oxford, MA,[7] and died 10 Sep 1817, Madrid, NY. She was buried in the Doran Cemetery.[8]
Pierce says the following:[9]
- He was in the Revolutionary army, in the company commanded by Capt. Andrews, of Shrewsbury.
He may have been the Daniel Whitney enumerated in Stamford, Bennington Co., VT in 1800, a town mid-way between Shrewsbury and Marlboro, MA and Madrid, NY.
