William Barrett8 Whitney (Phineahas7, William6, William5, William4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Phineahas7 and Bethiah (Barrett) Whitney, was born 14 Jun 1801, Winchendon, MA, and died 15 Feb 1874, Winchendon, MA.

He married, 20 Dec 1827, Lois M. Stone. She was born 25 May 1802, Fitzwilliam, NH, and died 20 Oct 1870, Vineland, NJ.

He was a farmer during the earlier portion of his life. Later in life he was largely engaged in lumbering and in the manufacture of lumber. He resided Winchendon, MA.
