Samuel Vincent⁸ Whitney (Samuel⁷, Silas⁶, Samuel⁵, William⁴, Nathaniel³, John², John¹), son of Samuel⁷ and Abigail (Wilder) Whitney, was born 25 May 1820, Ashburnham, MA,^[1] and died 3 Jul 1856, Ashburnham, MA.

He married, 31 Jan 1843, Ashburnham, MA, Sarah Ann Russell.^[2] She was born -----, and died 9 Apr 1875.

He was postmaster for some years and engaged in the morocco business; resided Ashburnham, MA.

i.	Russell Whitney, b. 13 Nov 1844, Ashburnham, MA;[3] m. 11 Jun 1867, Maria Metcalf, b. 25 Dec 1846; resided Gardner, MA.
ii.	Willis9 Whitney, b. 22 Nov 1848; d. 22 Aug 1849, aged 9 months.[4]
iii.	Eleanor Whitney, b. 28 Sep 1851; d. 29 Jul 1852
iv.	Luella Whitney, b. 28 Sep 1851; d. 26 Jan 1877.
