Frederick Henry Whitney (John, [prob.] Timothy5, Daniel4, Jonathan3, Jonathan2, John1), son of John and Silence (Holbrook) Whitney, was born circa 1816, Boston, Suffolk Co., MA, and died after 1860. He was a soap and candle manufacturer.
He married, 29 Feb 1840, SC, Sarah C. Anthony, daughter of Captain J. C. Anthony.[1] She was born circa 1815.

i. Frederick Whitney, b. ca. 1841, SC. He was not listed with the family in 1860. ii. Henry Whitney, b. ca. 1843, SC. iii. Susan / Sarah J. Whitney, b. ca. 1845, SC. iv. Robert L. Ward writes: I can't identify him. The vital records of Boston 1810-1840 are no longer extant, which makes it difficult, and he's not in Pierce, nor in FamilySearch.org. My best guess is that, since his second son was named Henry, he might be one of the three sons under 10 of Henry Whitney in the 1820 Census of Boston, 9th ward. Of course, I don't know who that Henry was, either!

Frederick Henry Whitney's parents were John and Silence Miller Whitney (b. 1783) of Boston. (Kibler, 428). [Source: "Our Fathers' Fields" by James Everett Kibler] She was actually Silence (Holbrook)(Whitney)(Houghton) Miller.
