Family:Whitney, Joshua (1782-1859)

Joshua⁶ Whitney (Joshua⁵, Matthias⁴, Cornelius³, Joshua², John¹), son of Joshua⁵ and Lydia Bowen (Day) Whitney; born Rutland, Vermont, 10 Jun 1782; married Rush, New York, 19 Mar 1809, Huldah Markham, born 12 Jan 1791; died 3 Oct 1878. He was a cabinetmaker and carpenter by trade. He died Feb. 13, 1859; resided Rutland, Vermont, and Girard, Michigan.

Children of Joshua⁶ and Huldah (Markham) Whitney:

i.	William Markham7 Whitney, born 7 Aug 1810; married Rosina Crow.
ii.	Phebe Whitney, born 29 Nov 1812; died Dec, 1885.
iii.	Lydia Lavina Whitney, born 2 Jan 1815; married 1831, ----- Dailey; resided Howeoge, New York.
iv.	David Day Whitney, born 28 Jan 1817; married Fanny -----.
v.	Huldah Whitney, born 6 Jul 1820; married 1849, ----- Adams; resided Coldwater, Michigan.
vi.	Caroline Whitney, born 7 Feb 1825; married 29 Dec 1846, John G. Frounfelter; resided 29 Pierce St., Coldwater, Michigan. He was born 23 May 1822; died 28 Apr 1847. Ch: John F., born 3 Oct 1847; died June, 1869.
vii.	Almira Whitney, born 1827; died 1850.
viii.	Joshua Whitney, born 1829; died 1851.
ix.	Jane Allen Whitney, born 25 Mar 1832; resided Cottage Grove, Oregon.
