Family:Whitney, Lucius (1811-1879)

Rev. Lucius⁷ Whitney (Cornelius⁶, Cornelius⁵, Matthias⁴, Cornelius³, Joshua², John¹), son of Cornelius⁶ and Rhoda (Gould) Whitney; born Mexico, New York, 15 Jan 1811; married 18 Dec 1836, Clarissa Ingersoll; born Dec.12, 1819; died 1 Sep 1883.

As a minister of the Methodist Episcopal church he served eleven charges covering a period of twenty-five years. He died 29 May 1879; resided North Bay, New York, Oneida County, Sandy Creek and Pulaski, New York.

Children of Lucius⁷ and Clarissa (Ingersoll) Whitney:

i.	Henry B.8 Whitney, born 2 May 1838; married Martha H. Smith.
ii.	Emma C. Whitney, born 26 Feb 1852; married 17 Oct 1876, Rev. Stephen T. Dibble. Ch.: Walter Whitney, born 30 Dec 1881; Henry T., born July 24, 1889. He was born 16 Dec 1851, and since Apr., 1878, has been a member of the Northern New York conference of the Methodist Episcopal church. They have resided in the following places all in New York state; West Sandy Creek, New Haven, Hannibal, West Winfield, Gouverneur, and their present home is at Fulton.
iii.	Jane P. Whitney, born 6 Jan 1837; married 13 Oct 1857, James H. Chapin. She died 4 Feb 1891. He was born 26 Nov 1834, is a pharmacist; resided Decatur, Nebraska Ch.: Alice Clara, born 29 Aug 1858; married May 15, 1878; present name Frary; P. O. address, Decatur, Nebraska; Cora Luella, born 2 Jun 1860; married 12 Apr 1883; present name Snyder; P. O. address, Pender, Nebraska; Henry Whitney, born 29 Jan 1862; P. O. address, Decatur, Nebraska; Lucius Almon, born 14 Dec 1867; P. O. address, Omaha, Nebraska.
iv.	Julia C. Whitney, born 6 Oct 1843; married 25 Dec 1865, Ashur C. Mclaughlin. She died 30 May 1892; resided Sterling Center, New York. He was born Dec. 27, 1849. Ch.: Arthur H., born 17 Dec 1867; Eva M., born Feb. 7, 1870; died 14 Aug 1870; Herbert, born 4 Aug 1871; died 25 Aug 1872; Perry, born 12 May 1873; died 5 Mar 1893; Clarence W., born Oct. 1, 1876; Lucius and Lucian, born 21 Aug 1878; Nellie E., born Apr. 4, 1880; died 18 Apr 1880.
