He is a farmer and stockraiser; resided Lane (probably Lane County) and Gale (location unidentified), Oregon.

i. Albert Vine9 Whitney, born 7 Oct 1861. He is engaged in stockraising, is unmarried; resided Cottage Grove, Oregon. ii. Phebe Jane Whitney, born 20 Jun 1863; died 20 Sep 1867. iii. William Perry Whitney, born 18 Jan 1865. iv. Daniel Merion Whitney, born 10 Jan 1868. v. Caroline Whitney, born 13 Jul 1872. vi. Jerome Whitney, born 25 Oct 1874. vii.
