Samuel Brown7 Whitney (William6, Elijah5, John4, William3, Joshua2, John1), son of William6 and Prudence (Brown) Whitney, was born 28 Jan 1817, Norwich, VT.

He ws married, 4 Nov 1846, Boston, MA, Sarah Brown. She was born 22 Feb 1824, and died 17 Feb 1873.

When a young man he moved to Boston where he has since resided. Soon after the breaking out of the war he enlisted in the 11th Massachusetts Battery which was attached to the 9th corps, Gen.
