Family:Whitney, Levi (1790-1855)
Levi6 Whitney (Benjamin5, John4, Henry3, John2, Henry1), son of Benjamin5 and Ann Mercy (Harris) Whitney, was born say 1791, Otsego, NY, and died in Grass Lake, IL.
He married Amelia Chase.
Phoenix says the following:
- Levi Whitney, b. about 1795 to 1800, in Otsego, N.Y.; lived, at one time, in Parish, N.Y., and went west; is reported to have died at "Grass Lake, Ill." (? Mich.); married Amelia Chase, and had several children, who lived, it was said, in Canada and Wisconsin, in Ap. 1875. He was a soldier in the war of 1812.

Harlow Whitney; supposed to have lived in Illinois, in Apr 1875; m.(1) Bethia -----; m.(2) Martha -----.

The L.D.S. Ancestral File (AFN:BV16-02) gives much more detail on this family. According to that generally unreliable source, the family group looks as below.
He was born 12 Jul 1790, Lake Zurich, IL, and died 8 Oct 1855, Mexico, NY. [Probably the places are reversed, but the dates seem probable.]
He married, 23 Mar 1814, Mexico, NY, Parmelia Chase, daughter of Joseph and Sarah (Doolittle) Chase. She was born 29 June 1797, Mexico, NY, and died 13 Jan 1882.
