Samuel⁸ Whitney (William Bartholomew⁷, Samuel⁶, Joseph⁵, Timothy⁴, John³, John², John¹), born Ontario, 1 Dec 1809; married 23 Jun 1831, Mary Cole; born 9 Aug 1810. She died in Brighton, Ontario, 15 Feb 1868. He was a farmer. He died 6 Jul 1854; resided Sophiasburg, Ontario.

i.	Isaac9 Whitney, born 1 Jul 1834; married Laura Puffer.
ii.	Simon Lawrence Whitney, born 28 Jul 1832; married Minerva Phillips.
iii.	Albert Whitney, born 12 Jun 1844; married Mahala Jane Phillips.
iv.	Catherine Harriett Whitney, born 15 Mar 1839; married 6 May 1855, John Mcnelley, born 19 Mar 1836; resided Codington, Ontario.
v.	Hannah Mary Whitney, born 6 Apr 1840; married 23 Nov 1859, William Washburn, born 10 Mar 1840; resided Lake, Ontario.
vi.	Mary Ann Whitney, born 10 Oct 1846; married 16 May 1868, Ebenezer Phillips; farmer; born 25 Apr 1841; resided Codington, Ontario.
