Sampson; born -----; died 5 Sep 1841; m 2d, 16 Aug 1842, Susan E. Barrett, born 2 May 1816; died 1 Apr 1857; married 3d, Nov. 14, 1859, Esther Ball, born 20 Sep 1821; died 7 Dec 1877. He died 16 May 1880; resided Westminster, Massachusetts.

Children of Jason⁸ and Elizabeth L. (Sampson) Whitney:

i.	Sarah B.9 Whitney, born 29 Jul 1837; married 18 May 1858, Henry E. Thomas. Was killed at battle of Cold Harbor in 21st New Hampshire. Regt. June 2, 1864. She died 2 Aug 1858.
ii.	Emma E. Whitney, born 17 Jan 1830; married 3 Jul 1861, George A. Stone; resided Fitzwilliam, New Hampshire.
iii.	Charles W. Whitney, born 7 Dec 1840; married Ruana Barrell.

iv.	Maria S. Whitney, born 20 Apr 1843; married Henry L. Smith; resided Westminster.
v.	Franklin Whitney, born 20 Apr 1845; died 15 Mar 1849.
