Jonathan8 Whitney, Jr. (Jonathan7, Jonathan6, Joseph5, Benjamin4, Joseph3, John2, John1), son of Jonathan7 and Lucy (Parks) Whitney, was born say 1794, Watertown, MA.

He was probably the Jonathan Whitney, Jr., of the following records. Marriage intentions were published 22 Jun 1817, Newton, MA, for him "of Watertown" and Abigail Hammond.[1] Marriage intentions were published 22 Jul 1817, Watertown, MA, for him "of Watertown" and Abigail Hammond "of Newton".[2] He "of Watertown" married, 14 Sep 1817, Watertown, MA, Abigail Hammond "of Newton".[3]

Children of Jonathan8 and Abigail (Hammond) Whitney (probably incomplete):

i. (son)9 Whitney, b. say 1819, known from 1820 census below.
ii. (son) Whitney, b. say 1822, known from 1830 census below.
iii. Susan Ann Whitney, b. January 19, 1824, Newton or Weston MA; d. March 11, 1913, Concord, MA, of septic infection from pin prick[4]; m. (int. 1 May 1847, Weston, MA[5]) 26 May 1847, Weston, MA, Robert Fiske of Lincoln, yeoman, age 32, born in Weston.[6]
iv. Francis Whitney, b. about 1828, Watertown, MA; d. 3 Apr 1858, Watertown, MA, aged 30 years, of unknown, farmer;[7] apparently unmarried.
v. Lucy Whitney, b. ca. 1829, Watertown, MA; d. 8 Oct 1851, Watertown, MA, aged 22 years, of general debility.[8]
