Family:Whitney, Jason (1811-1880)
Jason8 Whitney (Ohio7, Silas6, Samuel5, William4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Ohio7 and Mary (Bolton) Whitney, was born 10 Feb 1811, Ashburnham, MA,[1] and died 16 May 1880, Westminster, MA.
He married firstly, 4 May 1836, Ashburnham, MA, Elizabeth Laws Sampson,[2] daughter of Jonathan and Betsey (Gibbs) Sampson. She was born 2 Nov 1818, Winchendon, MA, and died 5 Sep 1841, Ashburnham, MA, aged 22 years 10 months 3 days.[3]
She was a direct descendant of "Mayflower" passengers Myles Standish, John Alden, and Stephen Hopkins (but not of Henry Sampson).
He married secondly, 16 Aug 1842, Susan Elvira Barrett.[4] She was born 2 May 1816, and died 1 Apr 1857.
He married thirdly, 14 Nov 1859, Esther Ball. She was born 20 Sep 1821, and died 7 Dec 1877.
He resided Westminster, MA.

Whitney, b. 17 Jan 1830; m. 3 Jul 1861, George A. Stone; resided Fitzwilliam, NH. iii. Charles W. Whitney, b. 7 Dec 1840; m. Ruana Barrell.

Ferdinand Whitney, b. 29 Aug 1854; m. 1876, Elmira S. Gleason, resided Fitchburg, MA.
Jason8 and Esther (Ball) Whitney had no children.
