He married, 23 Aug 1849, Rebecca B. Otis. She was born 3 Jun 1820.
He was a farmer; was a soldier in the war of 1812. He resided West Granville, NY.

i. Sarah Davy7 Whitney, b. 27 Feb 1852; d. 12 Oct 1891; m. 18 Feb 1872, William Ward. Resided Fort Ann, NY. - Ch.: Helen M., Willard, Otis Sardis, and Betsey Rebecca.
ii. Mary Lawrence Whitney, b. 3 Dec 1854; m. 7 Sep 1876, James Race; resided West Granville. - Ch.: Vernon Whitney, b. 19 Sep 1877; Mary Lawrence, b. 12 Sep 1880.
