Jonathan6 Whitney (Isaac5, Benjamin4, John3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Isaac5 and Sarah (Trufant) Whitney, was born 10 Jun 1788, Lisbon, ME,[1] and died 14 May 1837.

Marriage intentions were published 29 Jul 1815, Bowdoinham, ME, for him "Mr." and "Miss" Sarah Whitmore "both of Bowdoinham".[2] He married, between 1 Apr 1816 and 1 Apr 1817, Bowdoinham, ME, Sarah Whitmore "both of Bowdoinham",[3] daughter of William Whitmore. She was born 24 Nov 1794, Bath, ME, and died after 1830.

i. (daughter)7 Whitney, b. say 1816. Possibly the same as Sarah L. Whitney; m. (int. 16 Nov 1833, Sangerville, ME), William N. Thompson.[4] Children:
a. Martha N. Thompson, b. 13 Sep 1834, Sangerville, ME.
b. William G. Thompson, b. 22 May 1836, Sangerville, ME.
ii. Elizabeth Whitney, b. 1818; d. 1904; m. 1841, John Wesley True.
iii. (son) Whitney, b. 1820-1825.
iv. (son) Whitney, b. 1825-1830. Possibly the same as Samuel Whitney, b. ca. 1829, ME; prob. d. between 1853 and 1860; res. Sangerville, ME, 1850; m. (int. bef. 21 May 1853, Sangerville, ME) Helen Lowell, "both of Sangerville", b. 30 Jun 1829, Sangerville, ME,[5] d. 20 Nov 1907, Fitchburg, MA, daughter of Stephen Lowell and Delana (Goff) Lowell.[6][7] There were apparently no children.
