Family:Whitney, Jacob (1750-1843)
David5 Whitney (David4, David3, Joshua2, John1), son of David4 and Mary (Gunn) Whitney,[1] was born 16 Sep 1716, Plainfield, Connecticut,[2] and died after 1764, date and place unknown.[3]
He married 23 Sep 1739, Canaan, Connecticut, Mary Gunn,[4] daughter of Daniel and Hester (Griswold) Gunn.[5] She was born 10 Jan 1719, Westfield, Massachusetts,[6] and died after 1764, date and place unknown.[7]
They lived in Canaan and New Haven, Connecticut.
- "He was born in Canaan and at his father's death was given property. Moving
to New Haven in 1756 he resided there until 1762, and perhaps afterward. His ear mark for domestic animals was recorded there Oct. 25, 1757. He died in Vermont.
- "David WHITNEY of Canaan, Conn., who was brother of Solomon WHITNEY was
proprietor of Poultney, Vermont, and both were proprietors clerks of meetings held in 1761. [See History of Poultney.]
