Erastus Spring (Capt. Amos Spring II, Mr. Amos Spring, Abigail Chadwick, Sarah Whitney, Nathaniel Whitney, John Whitney, Jr., John Whitney, Thomas Whitney, Robert Whitney), was born 20 August 1804 in Otis, Massachusetts, and died 19 July 1896 in Middlebury, Wyoming Co., New York.

He married 20 March 1826, LeRoy, Genesee Co., New York, Elizabeth Webb, daughter of Benoni and Elizabeth (Phillips) Webb. She was born 28 February 1806, Otis, Massachusetts, and died 9 September 1896, Middlebury, Wyoming Co., New York.

Erastus Spring received his education in the common schools and was married in March after he became of age to Eliza, daughter of B. Webb of Pavilion. About 1832, he went to Geneva where he lived 2 years, when he returned to Pavilion, and afterwards moved to Niagara County where he resided 10 years after which he lived in Attica, Wyoming County, about 40 years where he owned a fine farm of 619 acres.
