Herbert Ellsworth10 Whitney (Jonathan/Joseph9, John Dudley8, Jonathan7, Jonathan6, Joseph5, Benjamin4, Joseph3, John2, John1), son of Jonathan/Joseph9 and Mary Hartwell (Reed)(Piper) Whitney, was born 14 Aug 1878, Westford, MA,[1] and died 1954. He is buried in Westlawn Cemetery, Littleton, MA.[2]

He married firstly, 22 Sep 1897, Nashua, NH, Gertrude May Newell,[3] daughter of William and Mary (Frost) Newell.[4] She was born 1879, and died 1914. She is buried in Westlawn Cemetery, Littleton, MA.[5]

He married secondly, Lillian E. Day. She was born 1884, and died 1956. She is buried in Westlawn Cemetery, Littleton, MA.[6]

i. Elsie Amy11 Whitney, b. 6 Jul 1898, Littleton, MA.[7]
ii. Lester Augustus Whitney, b. 25 Jun 1901, Littleton, MA.[8]
