He married 09 23 1869, Intentions certified in Standish, ME, Flavilla Augusta "Willa" Berry, daughter of Asa and Hannah (Moore) Berry. She was born 12 30 1847, Standish, ME, and died 11 07 1873, Gorham, ME.
Herman married secondly Hellen Aitchison Plaisted, who was b. 11 September 1852 and d. in 1927. Herman, Flavilla, and Hellen are all buried in the North Street Cemetery in Gorham, ME
Herman is found in the censuses of 1850 through 1870 living in Gorham, where for many years he was employed as an overseer at the pulp mill plant at Little Falls in Gorham.
