Rev. Reuben7 Whitney (Nathaniel6, Abel5, Nathan4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Nathaniel6 and Zilpah (Martin) Whitney, was born 23 Jun 1794 or 2 Jul 1794, Standish, ME, and died 23 Nov 1837, Sebago, ME. He is buried in the Haley Cemetery in Sebago.
He married firstly, 2 July 1818 in Standish, ME, Jane Whitmore of Standish. She was born in 1797, the dau. of William and Amy (Knight) Whitmore; she died 20 April 1827, and is buried in the Rand Cemetery in Standish, ME.
He married secondly, Phebe Dearborn. She was born 16 Nov 1794 in Buxton, ME, the dau. of Jacob and Susannah Dearborn; and died 8 Jan 1865 in Sebago, ME. She is buried in the Haley Cemetery in Sebago.
He was a preacher, a farmer and a veteran of the War of 1812. He resided Sebago, ME.

i. Zilpha A.8 Whitney, b. 11 Jan 1819 and d. 2 May 1908; m. 29 Dec 1844, Benjamin F. Cutler, b. 19 Apr 1822 and d. 24 April 1891; resided Washington, DC, 634 A St., N.E. Both Zilpha and Benjamin are buried in the Saccarappa Cemetery in Westbrook, ME - Ch.: Clara L., b. 9 Aug 1846; m. 1 Oct 1866, Thomas E. Roach; Mary A., b. 26 Apr 1850; Jennie W., b. 22 Dec 1858. He is a surveyor and lumber manufacturer.
ii. Sarah H. Whitney, b. 24 Feb 1823; d. 12 Sep 1832. She is buried in the Rand Cemetery in Standish, ME. iii. Jane Whitney, b. 28 Apr 1830; d. Sep 1832. iv. Susannnah D. Whitney, b. 13 Sep 1831; d. 1915. She is buried in the Haley Cemetery in Sebago, ME. v. Brazill H. Whitney, b. 21 May 1837; m. Jane S. Lord.
