Francis Covel Whitney (Levi, Abel, Nathan, Nathaniel, Benjamin, John), was born 03 16 1823, Standish, ME, and died 05 25 1894, Standish, ME.

He married 11 02 1851, Gorham, ME, Rosannah K. Harmonof Buxton, ME. She was born 03 1830, and died 06 08 1913, Standish, ME.

Francis was a cooper by trade, and was also a Civil War veteran whose widow received a pension from the U.S. government.

November 1855, the dau. of George W. Hester. They resided in Windham, Gorham, and Portland, ME. They had one known son: Harlan Whitney, b. October 1885.
ii.	Edgar A. Whitney, b. 04 1855, ME. He m. abt 1877 Everline ------, b. July 1856 in ME. They resided in Portland, ME, where he was a grocer. They had one known son: Martin H. Whitney, b. July 1882 in ME.
iii.	Josephine F. Whitney, b. 08 1857, ME. She m. ------- Boothby, and they were divorced before 1900. They had one known daughter: Gertrude L. Boothby, b. April 1893.
iv.	Hattie B. Whitney, b. abt.. 1868, ME.
