Abel Whitney was born on a farm in Pepperell, Massachusetts. Soon after his marriage, in 1794, he moved to a farm in Tunbridge, Vermont, where he ever after resided. He died 19 Jul 1845; resided Tunbridge, Vermont.

i. Lewis7 Whitney, born 6 Jan 1800; married Emeline Nutting. ii. Henry Whitney, born 3 Apr 1808; married and his. wid. resided S. Royalton, Vermont. He died Sept. 1892. His son, Horace L., resided 9 Pelham St., Boston, Massachusetts. iii. George Whitney, born 1 Sep 1812; married Arathusa Gates; had five boys Albert, Milo F., John, Lewis, Orlando. iv. Abel Whitney, born 9 Feb 1804; married Mary Hall. v. Joseph Whitney, born 27 Jan 1806; married Caroline Pierce. vi. Sally Whitney, born 27 Dec 1801; married 28 Mar 1832, Darius S. Durkee; resided No. T. She died 1883. - Ch.: Simeon P., resided No. T; Caroline.
vii. Nancy Whitney, born 24 Mar 1810; married 24 Jan 1833, Roswell Durkee, born 20 Oct 1808; died 18 Nov 1890; resided No. T. - Ch.: John, born Jan. 2, 1834 (physician); married Mary J.
