Joseph7 Whitney (Abel6, Benjamin5, Joseph4, Joseph3, Jonathan2, John1), son of Abel6 and Phebe (Scott) Whitney, was born 27 Jan 1806, Tunbridge, VT, and died 25 Oct 1883, Tunbridge, VT.

He, of Tunbridge, VT, married firstly, 18 Mar 1844, Warren, VT, Emily A. Pierce, of Warren, VT.[1]

He married, possibly secondly, before 1850, Caroline Pierce,[2] daughter of Amos and Caroline (-----) Pierce. She was born about 1815, VT, and died after 1870.

The two wives may actually be the same person.

He resided Tunbridge, VT.

i. Abel8 Whitney, b. 9 Jul 1847, Tunbridge, VT;[3] d. 8 Aug 1864, Andersonville prison camp, during the civil war.

iii. James Pierce Whitney, b. ca. 1855, VT; m. Rosa Goodale.
