Family:Whitney, Ethiel (1803-1874)

Ethiel⁷ Whitney (James⁶, Samuel⁵, Samuel⁴, Nathaniel³, John², John¹), b, Newtown, Connecticut, 6 May 1796; married 29 Mar 1823, Elizabeth Leonard, born 23 Dec 1803. He was a farmer and blacksmith; in his later years became blind; was a soldier in the war of 1812; resided Covert, New York and Plainfield, Michigan.

Children of Ethiel⁷ Whitney:

i.	Mindrus Hemrod8 Whitney, born 1 Jan 1824; married Harriett Adelaide Watson.
ii.	Zerah Whitney, born 12 Mar 1825; married 5 Feb 1851, Ellen Janet Moffatt; resided Plainfield, Michigan.
iii.	Chauncey Lambert Whitney, born 8 Oct 1826; died 8 May 1832.
iv.	Elizabeth Jane Whitney, born 26 Jul 1829; died 1 Aug 1832.
v.	Hermon Eastman Whitney, born 7 Dec 1830; married Lydia Ann Moffatt.
vi.	Emeline Whitney, born 12 Jan 1838; married 14 Nov 1855, Chas. Roswell Hine, born 12 Nov 1832; resided Lowell, Michigan. He is a supervisor and director of the local bank.
