Amos Whitney was born in Rindge, New Hampshire. He moved to Leominster, and married his wide in Fitchburg. In 1812 he moved to Royalston, and purchasing of Abel Downe the John Osborne place lived there ever afterward. He died 1874; resided Leominster and Royalston, Massachusetts.

R.; born 10 Jun 1848; Mary A., died Oct, 20, 1860. ii. Sophia Whitney, born 19 Feb 1815; married Oct., 1836, Reuben Browning. He was born 17 Mar 1814; died 5 Nov 1845. She died at Royalston, July 1 1865. Ch., Martha A., born in Holden, 2 Aug 1838; married David W. Hodgkins, M. D., of Jefferson, Maine, 17 May 1866; address, East Brookfield, Massachusetts; ch., Robert B., born in Waldoboro, Maine, Oct. 17, 1867 died same day; Isabelle Marion, born E. Brookfield, Massachusetts, 21 Jun 1869; George Whitney, born E. Brookfield, 30 Dec 1870; died 9 Jan 1876, aged 5 years 10 days; David Harwood, born E. Brookfield, 11 Jun 1873; and Chester Hussey, born E. Brookfield, 9 Jan 1875; Marion F., born 8 Nov 1840; married to Rev. Henry M. Rogers, of Ware, Dec., 1862; address, Holden, Massachusetts: ch., Nellie Marion, born in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, Dec., 1863; Herbert Allen, born Wellfleet, Massachusetts, Apr. 1866; Rupert Browning, born Dalton, Massachusetts, Aug., 1868; and Harry, born W. Tufts, of Boston, Oct., 1890; address. 1859 Oakdale Ave., Lake View, Chicago. Henry W. Cotton, died in South Framingham, Dec., 1892; aged 57. iii. George Whitney, born Sept. 21,1817; married Eliza J.
