Artemas Henry Whitney (George Washington Whitney, John Smith Whitney, Thomas, Thomas, Eleazer, Thomas, John ), was born 29 Jul 1833, Dana MA, and died 13 Feb 1914, Athol MA.

He married 13 Sep 1858, Belchertown MA, Jerusha Sellon Percival, daughter of Ansel and Sylvia (Sellon) Percival. She was born 23 Sep 1831, Amherst MA, and died 6 Dec 1904, Athol MA.

Artemas served with Co. K, 42nd Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry from 25 Oct to 1 Nov 1862 when he was discharged as disabled with a ventral hernia. He lived in Amherst, Greenwich, Dana and Athol. Jerusha Sellon Percival's line goes to the Mayflower.
