Solomon⁸ Whitney (David⁷, Silas⁶, David⁵, Benjamin⁴, Thomas³, Thomas², John¹), born Clarendon, Vermont; 3 Jan 1795; married 15 Jan 1822, Besheba Clow, born 1 Sep 1793; died 26 Jun 1854. He died 21 Mar 1840; resided Highgate Springs, Vermont.

Children of Solomon⁸ Whitney:

i.	Roderick B.9 Whitney, born 28 Sep 1825; married and resided Highgate Center, Vermont; left a son Phillip, whose widow resided H. C.
ii.	Stephen S. Whitney, born 23 Oct 1827; died 8 May 1866.
iii.	James D. Whitney, born 25 Nov 1829; died 24 Oct 1844.
iv.	Andrew C. Whitney, born 11 Aug 1833; M. Mary G. Todd.
v.	Giles E. Whitney, born 4 Mar 1836; married Adaline P. Davis.
vi.	Melvin R. Whitney, born 10 Feb 1839; married and resided Fort Dodge, Iowa.
vii.	Sarah A. Whitney, born 19 Apr 1831; died 12 May 1869.
