J. Shearman8 Whitney (Ami7, Ami6, Jonathan5, Jonathan4, Jonathan3, Benjamin2, John1), born Flint Creek, New York, Dec 7, 1847; married at Cleveland, Ohio, Feb 24, 1875, Emma C. Crozier.

He resided with his parents at Flint Creek until 1871, when he removed to Wellington, Kansas. After two years he returned to his former home. After marriage, he resided on a farm in Gorham, New York until 1880 when he removed to a farm in Flint Creek, New York. After living at this place for eight years he moved to Hall's Corner's, New York, where he remained for a short time. In May, 1889, he went to El Cajon, California, where his family followed him in the following August. In 1894 he returned to Hall's Corner's, New York; resided El Cajon, California, and Hall's Corner's New York.

i. WM. Ami Jefferson9 Whitney, born Jan 15, 1876.
ii. George C. Whitney, born 11 Jun 1877.
iii. Anna Belle Whitney, born Dec 5, 1879; died Dec 24, 1879.
