Albertus L.9 Whitney (Lyman8, Christopher7, Christopher6, William5, William4, William3, Joshua2, John1), born Hinsdale, New York, 1 Aug 1829; married at St. Paul, Minnesota, 22 Feb 1863, Cornelia L. Tozer, born 20 Oct 1835, at Farmersville, New York.

Albertus L. Whitney was with his father from 1829 to 1850; then he went to Kentucky and taught one year. From there went to Wisconsin and taught; in 1856 went to St. Anthony Falls and taught. From 1858 to 1863 was in employ of U. S. in postal service; 22 Feb 1863, was married in St. Paul, Minnesota, to C. L. Tozer, then went to Jeffersonville, Indiana, and for three years was railway ticket agent. From there went to Minneapolis, Minnesota, and was again an emplove in the Minneapolis postoffice as assistant postmaster and superintendent of carriers. In 1875 he went to Los Angeles, where he has since made his home. For five years he was connected with the postoffice department, and later was deputy county assessor and cashier for thr county tax collector; resided Los Angeles, California.

9782a. i. Frank A., born 31 Jul 1865; died 21 Jun 1867. 9783a. ii. Alice D., born 14 May 1868, res at home. 9784a. iii. Paris Gibson, born 27 Aug 1870; died 17 Mar 1874.
