Family:Whitney, Chandler (1803-1862)
Chandler Whitney (Lemuel), son of Lemuel and Mary (-----) Whitney,[1] was born 20 Feb 1803, Royalston, MA,[2] and died 1 Feb 1862, Athol, MA, aged 57 years 11 months 19 days, soldier, resided Petersham and Pittsfield.[3]
He married firstly, before 1826, Martha -----. She was born about 1796, and died 8 Jan 1848, Athol, MA, aged 52 years.[4]
He married secondly, 24 Nov 1860, Vernon, VT, Meranda Ellenwood.[5] She may have been the Miranda Ellenwood, daughter of Seneca and Matilda (Fay) Ellenwood, born 18 Apr 1809, Dummerston, VT, and died after 1 Feb 1862.
Children of Chandler and Martha (-----) Whitney:
i. Lucy Whitney, b. ca. Jan 1827, d. 19 Aug 1843, Athol, MA, aged 16 years 7 months, of consumption.[6]
Children of Chandler and Meranda (Ellenwood) Whitney, if any, unknown.

- 1860: not found. There is a Chandler Whiting [sic], aged 58, farm laborer, born in MA, living in Dana, MA, with the Seth Williams family. He may be the above person, since no record of a Chandler Whiting of that age can be found.
