Milton8 Whitney (Silas7, Silas6, Samuel5, William4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), born 9 Oct 1823; married 24 Nov 1842, Annie M. Weston.

Milton Whitney was born in Ashburnham, and was a self-educated man. At an early age he entered a law office in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, and was admitted to the bar in 1845. After a brief practice in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, he moved to Baltimore, where he was eminently successful as an able lawyer. In 1854 he was chosen county attorney and re-elected in 1858. In 1860 he resigned, and later conducted many trials that are historic in that state. As a criminal lawyer he was not excelled. Modest and unassuming, he seldom referred to his achievements, or appeared conscious of the magnitude of his labor. He died 3 Sep 1875; resided Baltimore, Maryland.
