Isaac⁵ Whitney (Benjamin⁴, John³, Benjamin², John¹), son of Benjamin⁴ and Mercy (Hinckley) Whitney, was born 14 Jul 1756,^[1] or 22 May 1757, Harpswell, ME,^[2] or 22 May 1757, Harpswell, ME,^[3] and died 1850, Lisbon Falls, ME,^[4] or 29 Jan 1850, Lisbon Falls, ME,^[5] or 29 Jan 1850,^[6] buried at Lisbon, ME.^[7]

Marriage banns were published 1783, Topsham, ME, for him "of Little River" and Sarah Trufant "of Potterstown".^[8] He married, 22 May 1783, Topsham, ME, Sarah Trufant, daughter of Job Trufant and Chloe White. Sarah Trufant was born circa 1761, gave age as 59 in 1820. She was born circa 1761 at Potterstown, ME. She was born 16 Feb 1764, Bowdoin, ME. She was born 16 Feb 1765, Weymouth, MA. She died 14 Jul 1846, Lisbon Falls, ME, or 24 Jul 1846, Lisbon, ME. She was also known as Sarah Truant. She was also known as Sarah Truent. Birth derived from document (?) in 1820 in which she gave her age as 59. Interesting speculation: the eighth child was named James Trufant Whitney, and the ninth child, Ann Gowel Whitney married an Adam Trufant -- could this woman's name have actually been Trufant rather than Truant?

They lived at Lisbon, ME, at the foot of Rowe's Hill.

vii.	Elizabeth Wilson Whitney, b. 14 Feb 1794, Lisbon, ME.
viii.	James Trufant Whitney, b. 20 Jan 1796, Lisbon, ME; possibly the James Whitney who m. 5 May 1820, Ann Gibbs, and resided in Canton, ME, where he d. 11 Dec 1870.
