Russell Whitney (John), son of John and Lydia (Russell) Whitney, was born 7 Jan 1816, Union, ME, and died 22 Nov 1859.

He married, 22 or 26 Sep 1852, Rockport, ME, Henrietta L. McKellar of Camden.

In Sep 1840, his father John Whitney sold a farm in Warren, ME, to him for $500, "Fifty acres more or less with buildings being the same now occupied by me".

i.	Lydia J. Whitney, b. Nov 1853; d. Dec 1853.
ii.	Alden R. Whitney, b. 14 Feb 1855, Warren, ME.
