Ezra Ames⁷ Whitney (Isaac⁶, Barnabas⁵, Isaac⁴, Nathaniel³, Benjamin², John¹), son of Isaac⁶ and Elizabeth C. (Parlin) Whitney, was born 6 Mar 1815, Augusta, ME.

He married firstly, Martha Tilton. She was born 5 Mar 1814, and died 3 Apr 1841, Freeman, ME. She is buried in the Strong Village Cemetery, Strong, ME.

He married secondly, 26 December 1862, Steuben, ME, Abigail Jane Watts, daughter of Joseph Tupper and Hannah (Wakefield) Watts. She was born Feb 1833, Steuben, ME.
