Charles Ashley Whitney (Josiah S., Jacob, Benjamin, John, Benjamin, John), was born 12 27 1843, Phillips, ME, and died 04 06 1928, Chetek, WI.
He married 02 22 1871, Chippewa Falls, WI, Christena Gilbertson, daughter of . She was born 08 25 1852, Christiana, Norway, and died 12 28 1938, Raddison, WI.
Charles was a Civil War veteran, and he and his widow received pensions for his service and disability. He is buried in the Lakeview Cemetery in Chetek, WI.
