William F.⁸ Whitney (Phineas⁷, Levi⁶, Abel⁵, Nathan⁴, Nathaniel³, Benjamin², John¹), son of Phineas⁷ and Hannah B. (Lowell) Whitney, was born 24 Mar 1842, Portland, ME, and died between 1870 and 1875.

He married, about 1865, Helen Augusta Waterhouse, daughter of William H. and Fannie K. (Harris) Waterhouse. She was born 6 Jul 1849, Portland, ME, and died 12 Jan 1926, Portland, ME. She married secondly, 12 Jun 1875, Portland, ME, William A. H. Fuller. He was born 1 Dec 1845, Cumberland Co., ME, and died 31 Jul 1905 Portland, ME.

Children of William F.⁸ and Helen Augusta (Waterhouse) Whitney:

i.	Jane P.9 Whitney, b. ca. 1866, ME; d. after 1900, then unmarried.
ii.	Wallace Abner Whitney, b. 4 Aug 1868, Portland, ME.
