II. Nathaniel Whitman Whitney, b. at East Woods, now Woodbury, L. I., 17 July 1818; married in New York City, 17 July 1842, Mary Eliza Velsor, dau. of John W. Velsor, of Woodbury. She died at the latter place, 28 March 1848, and was buried in Fountain Hill Cemetery. He married (2d), at Green Point, Brooklyn, L. I., Sarah Jane Valentine, dau. of Joshua and Phebe Valentine; died at Woodbury, 27 July 1860; and was buried in Fountain Hill Cemetery.
