Lafayette Le/Frazier9 Whitney Horace Burnham8, Luther7, Nathaniel6, Samuel5, Nathaniel4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Horace Burnham8 and Lucetta (Frazier) Whitney, was born 25 Aug 1868, Rocky Run Twp., Hancock Co. IL, and died 6 Mar 1945, Lima, IL.

He married, 13 Oct 1892, Quincy, IL, Olive "Pearl" Spencer, daughter of Oliver Perry and Ella Dora (Carter) Spencer. She was born 25 Jun 1874, Adams Co., IL, and died 17 Dec 1959, Quincy, IL.

Both are buried in Fletcher Cemetery, Lima, IL.

Lafayette was a farmer near Tioga, IL. A Master Mason. His son Clyde claimed he was also a gambler on the Mississippi Riverboats. His father-in-law was a civil war veteran of the 42nd Reg., IL Infantry, Co. C. He received a gold watch for his service which is presently in the possession of Luke Clyde Whitney.

iii. Jessie Alice Whitney, b. 19 Dec 1902, Lima, IL; d. Sep 1977, Quincy, IL.
iv. Joseph Llevellyn Whitney, b. 23 Dec 1908, Quincy, IL; d. 6 Apr 2003, Springfield, MO.
