Franklin Robert⁹ Whitney (Franklin⁸, Joshua⁷, Joshua⁶, Thomas⁵, William⁴, William³, Joshua², John¹), son of Franklin⁸ and Eliza (Cameron) Whitney, was born 18 Oct 1842, Binghamton, NY, and died after 1882, MI.

He married, 2 Nov 1868, Ashtabula Co., OH, Emily Jane Trall, daughter of Norman Francis and Ann M. (-----) Trall. She was born about 1849, Rock Creek, OH, and died after 1882.

He enlisted in Co. C, 27th New York Infantry, 21 May 1861, and was mustered out 31 May 1863, Elmira, NY.
