Noah Ashley⁶ Whitney (Joshua⁵, Joshua⁴, William³, Joshua², John¹), son of Joshua⁵ and Anna (Ashley) Whitney; born Salisbury, Connecticut, 26 Dec 1770; married at Lanesborough, Massachusetts, 26 Oct 1796, Olive Dorwin; born Lanesborough, 13 Oct 1777; died 22 Feb 1817; married 2d, 10 Jul 1817, Mrs. Elizabeth Rose, born -----; died Sep 1834.

He was born in Salisbury, Litchfield county, Connecticut, but early moved to Lanesborough, Massachusetts, where he was married. For many years he was in the iron business, but during the latter part of his life was a farmer. He died Nov 1834; resided Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Oswego Falls, New York, and Toledo, Ohio.

i.	Larania Whitney, born 17 Aug 1797; died in Pittsfield, 30 Sep 1798.
ii.	Noah Ashley Whitney, born 11 Jul 1799; married three times.
iii.	Thomas Porter7 Whitney, born 20 May 1801; married Sybil H. Green.
iv.	Mary Ann Whitney, born 5 Sep 1803; married -----Cone. She died 16 Apr 1869. Ch.: Noah A., born -----; resided Auburndale, Ohio.
v.	Milton Dorwin Whitney, born 22 Sep 1805; married -----. He died May 29, 1839, at Port Lawrence, Ohio; a dau. married Ambrose Cone; resided Sylvania, Ohio.
vi.	Sally Whitney, born 16 Jun 1807; died 21 Sep 1808.
vii.	Marriet Whitney, born 7 Mar 1809; died 24 Mar 1809.
viii.	Augustus Whitney, born 17 Sep 1811; died unmarried at Oswego Falls, New York, Sept. 17, 1837.
ix.	Harriet Whitney, born 9 Mar 1814; married 19 Jan 1834, Samuel L. Collins; resided Toledo, Ohio, cor. Detroit and Cherry Sts. He was born Apr. 4, 1805; died 2 Feb 1889; was in the mercantile business and real estate. Ch.: Harriett, born 28 Apr 1835; married Edward N. Perry, of Woodstock, Connecticut, in 1856; Daniel Augustus, born 31 Aug 1837; married Eva B. Terry, of Waterville, New York, in 1866; Annie, born Apr. 26, 1850; died the same year; Ashley, born 10 Jul 1842; died in infancy.

x.	Anna Elizabeth Whitney, born 1 Dec 1818; died 5 Sep 1842.
