Horatio9 Whitney (Horatio8, David7, Ephraim6, David5, Nathaniel4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Horatio8 and Betsey (Greenwood) Whitney, was born 12 Jun 1825, Needham, MA,[1] and died 6 Jun 1897, New Bedford, MA, aged 68 years, of chronic interstitial nephritis, watchman.[2]
He married, 26 Sep 1847, Providence, RI, Betsey Atherton,[3] daughter of Otis and Susanna (Burr) Atherton. She was born 19 Oct 1821, Mansfield, MA, and died after 1860. Apparently there was a divorce, as she remarried, 13 Aug 1854, RI, David Vallett.
