George W.⁸ Whitney (Thomas⁷, Cornelius⁶, Cornelius⁵, Matthias⁴, Cornelius³, Joshua², John¹), son of Thomas⁷ and Annie (Jewel) Whitney; born Albion, New York, 1848; married 30 Jul 1869, in Shelby County, Iowa, Alice Castle, born 1856. He is a farmer; resided Gibbon, Nebraska.

i.	Daniel S.9 Whitney, born 1871.
ii.	Elizabeth Whitney, born 1872; married 1890, ----- Marshall; resided Aurora, Nebraska.
iii.	Jennie Whitney, born 1886.
iv.	Edith Whitney, born 1876; died 1889.
