Family:Whitney, Aaron (1786-1860)

Aaron⁶ Whitney (Benjamin⁵, Joseph⁴, Joseph³, Jonathan², John¹), son of Benjamin⁵ and Rebecca (Fitch) Whitney; Pepperell, Massachusetts, 22 Feb 1786; married there, 7 Jun 1814, Betsey Parker; born 13 Jan 1796; died 18 Jan 1867.

He was born in Pepperell, Massachusetts, and soon after his marriage moved to Tunbridge, Vermont. There he erected a temporary log cabin until he could make the brick and build a house in which he ever afterwards resided. The place is known to this day as Whitney Hill. Aaron was a farmer. He died 22 Feb 1860; resided Pepperell, Massachusetts, and Tunbridge, Vermont.

i.	Aaron P.7 Whitney, born 2 Oct 1815, married Phyrilla Durkee.
ii.	Sibbel E. Whitney, born 28 Sep 1817; married 5 Nov 1837, Nathaniel Hall. She died 4 Mar 1893. Ch.: S. Norman, resided Chicago; is on Board of Trade.
iii.	Rebecca F. Whitney, born 7 Oct 1820; married 15 Nov 1847, Nathaniel King resided Tunbridge, Vermont.
iv.	Henrietta V. Whitney, born 11 Dec 1822; married 24 Jun 1844, Charles W. Blis; resided Bethel, Vermont. He is a farmer; was born 16 Sep 1814. Ch.: Willis Whitney, born 28 Jul 1845; married 18 Oct 1867; died Mar. 22, 1888; William Henry, born 5 Oct 1847; married 9 Sep 1873, Middlebury, Addison County. Vermont; Daniel Webster, born 18 Feb 1852; married 17 Jun 1891, -----, Bethel, Windsor County, Vermont.
v.	William F. Whitney, born 8 May 1825; married Jane Sprague.
vi.	Abijah Whitney, born 6 Feb 1829; died 13 Oct 1837.
vii.	Carlos Whitney, born 5 May 1831; married Helen M. Corwin.
viii.	Sarah A. Whitney, born 14 May 1833; married 25 Oct 1854, James Lewis. She died 9 Jun 1859, at Chelsea, Vermont. Mr. Lewis now resides in Worcester, Massachusetts Ch.: Flora E., born 6 Oct 1855; died 21 Mar 1859; Harriett Ellen, died 18 Jun 1859.
ix.	Ellen Whitney, born 14 Dec 1837; married 13 Mar 1865, Elizur F. Howe, born July 17, 1837; resided Tunbridge, Vermont Ch.: Anne R., born 10 Dec 1867; William Whitney, born 19 Aug 1872; Sadie A., born 15 Dec 1875; Elmer E., born 22 Oct 1882.
