Samuel Whitney, parentage unknown, was born say 1785, Alstead, NH, and died before 1850.
Intentions of marriage were published 8 Nov 1808, Charlestown, MA, for him "Mr." "of Boston" and "Miss" Frances Goodenow "of Charlestown".[1]. He married, 28 Nov 1808, Boston, MA, Frances Goodenow.[2] She was born about 15 Jan 1787, Sudbury, MA, and died 5 Jan 1857, Boston, MA, aged 69 years 11 months 20 days, of consumption.[3]

Whitney, b. ca. 12 Apr 1817, Boston, MA; d. 13 May 1888, Shirley, MA, aged 71 yearss 1 month 1 day, of pneumonia; unmarried.[7] iv. Martha Earl Whitney, b. ca. 8 Mar 1821, Boston, MA; d. 15 Aug 1904, Quincy, MA, aged 83 years 5 months 7 days;[8] m. Timothy Reed
