Charles⁹ Whitney (Norman⁸, Samuel⁷, Samuel⁶, Joseph⁵, Timothy⁴, John³, John², John¹), son of Norman⁸ and Mary Wilcox (Forsyth) Whitney; born Keeseville, New York, 16 Jan 1844; married at Burlington, Vermont, 28 Feb 1866, Rhoda Phelps; born 7 Oct 1842. He is a contractor and builder; resided Burlington, Vermont, 86 Grant St.

i.	George R.10 Whitney, born 23 Dec 1866.
ii.	Alton C. Whitney, born 3 Dec 1869.
iii.	Mary M. Whitney, born 6 Jul 1876.
iv.	Harry E. Whitney, born 23 Jul 1877; died 12 May 1878.
