Ebenezer2 Whitney (Elijah1), son of Elijah Whitney, was born circa 1770, ME, died 1 Jul 1856, Nelson, NY "Ebenezer Whitney, of Nelson, New York, killed himself while trying to shoot a squirel,"[1] aged 85 years. He was buried in Nelson Rural Cemetery, Nelson, NY.[2]
He married, 10 Apr 1798, Hadley, MA, Jerusha Murdock,[3] daughter of William and Jerusha (Lay) Murdock. She was baptized 14 May 1775, Westbrook, CT (ChhR1:53), and died 11 Sep 1869, aged 93 years. She was buried in Nelson Rural Cemetery, Nelson, NY.[4]

Per the Banns of Marriage record noted below, it lists Ebenezer as "Ebenezer Jr.".[5] Is it possible that this is the son of "Ebenezer Whitney and Anna Simonds"??
