James1 Whitney (John), son of John and Hannah (-----) Whitney, born circa 1841, Leftwich, Cheshire, England, and died after 1910, probably Worcester Co., MA.

He married, before 1866, Ann Tomkins. She was born circa 1843, Winsford, Cheshire, England, and died before 1910.

In 1851 he resided in Castle Northwich Township (now part of Northwich), Cheshire, England with his parents.

In 1861 he was a unmarried saddler lodging in Runcorn.

In 1871 he resided in Runcorn with his family and a domestic servant.

In 1881 he resided in Runcorn with his family and was a harness maker.

In 1891 he resided in Runcorn with his family and was a saddler.

In 1910 he resided in Fitchburg, Worcester Co., MA with his son John. James was at this time a widower.

i. Martha A. Whitney, b. ca. 1866, Runcorn, Cheshire, England.
ii. John2 Whitney, b. 27 Apr 1868, Runcorn, Cheshire, England.[1]
iii. William Whitney, b. ca. 1874, Runcorn, Cheshire, England. In 1891 he was a chemical laborer.
iv. Florence Whitney, b. ca. 1882, Runcorn, Cheshire, England.
