Amos Spring (Abigail Chadwick, Sarah Whitney, Nathaniel Whitney, John Whitney, Jr., John Whitney, Thomas Whitney, Robert Whitney), was born 12 December 1752, Otis, Berkshire Co., Massachusetts, and died 23 February 1814, Otis, Berkshire Co., Massachusetts.

He married 29 December 1774, Tyringham, Berkshire Co., Massachusetts, Rebecca Judd, daughter of (Timothy and Lois (Curtice) Judd). She was born 15 March 1752, Torrington, Litchfiekd Co., Connecticut, and died 9 March 1839, LeRoy, Genesee Co., New York.

Mr. Amos Spring enlisted in June 1775 in Capt. Joseph Stebbin's Co., Col. Jonathan Brewtser's 6th Regiment, Brig. Gen. Nathaniel Green's Brigade and participated in the seige of Boston. He assisted in erecting the redoubt on Breed's Hill on the night of August 16th and was in the Battle of Bunker Hill on the next day. Amos was discharged in February 1776. Later, he was in Capt. Samuel Wolcott's Co., Col. Hopkin's Regiment, which marched to the Highlands, N.Y., and Capt. Samuel Wolcott's Co., Col. John Brown's Regiment that marched by order of General Fellows to reinforce the Northern Army.

i. Amos Spring II, b. 15 December 1779, Otis, Berkshire Co., Massachusetts, d. 15 May 1850, Attica, Wyoming Co., New York.
ii. Darius Spring, b. 23 March 1792, Otis, Berkshire Co., Massachusetts, d. 17 September 1814, Fort Erie, Canada (Battle of Fort Erie).
